This is a list of technologies I've used professionally, roughly ranked by my fluency in them. This is not an exhaustive list, and I also love to dive into learning new things.
A product-led company with high collaboration both in & between departments/teams, a strong vision, and strong opinions that avoid verging on dogma.
I'd like to avoid siloed teams, and white-labeled products.
Ultimately, I am a product-focused software engineer. I used to be very interested in technology for technology's sake. Nowadays, I've come to realise that I love to write software to solve actual problems.
I got interested in writing sofware while I was an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin. I was studying Electrical Engineering and the degree consisted of both circuits/hardware classes as well as microcontrollers and low level programming with assembly and C. I realised I enjoyed the programming classes more than my circuit/hardware classes and so, after I graduated, I decided to get an MS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I started my professional career in 2014 as a software engineer working at NextGen Healthcare in Austin, Texas. There, I worked in an agile team building electronic health records software for the US healthcare system using JavaScript and Node.js.
My tenure at Signal AI, where I currently work, has spanned two teams - Web Platform and Monitor. On the Web Platform side, my team worked on improving our GraphQL API by stablishing and implementing best practices into our schema design and resolvers. We also worked on moving our monolithic web application into a microfrontend architecture using Module Federation. I later moved on to the Monitor team, where my team and I work on developing our content distribution system, ensuring our clients receive their bulletins and reports in a reliable manner. We have also integrated our web app with our new search API, writing a translation layer between two different domain specific languages.
